Great NFL Teams

Greatest NFL Teams

There have been many great football teams and players over the years. While teams come and go there are some that really stand out. These are some of the greatest NFL teams of all time.

1985 Chicago Bears

This team was lead by quarterback Jim McMahon and had not only a great offense but the defense was on point as well. No one could get back the defensive players. The Bears had a great regular season record with 15 wins and only 1 loss. They scored a total of 456 points while they only allowed the other teams to score 198 points. They got through the playoffs with no problem and won the Super Bowl against the New England Patriots with a score of 46-10 points.

1973 Miami Dolphins

This was considered to be one of the greatest teams to play the game. They go through the regular season without losing a game. While some say they played one of the easiest schedules going undefeated is still an accomplishment. While they were considered to be the underdogs in the Super Bowl they still won the game against the Redskins with a close score of 14-7. This team was lead by Don Shula who was considered to be one of the best head coaches ever. The lineup on this team also included some great players such as Larry Csonka, Jim Kiick, and Bob Griese.

1962 Green Bay Packers

This team had some outstanding players in their lineup. They had Vince Lombardi, Jim Taylor, and Boyd Dowler just to name a few. These players put up one of the best offensive lines in history. They had power and had a great defense as well. The opposing teams did not score more than 11 points in any game. They won a number of games during the off season and defeated everyone they played against.

1991 Washington Redskins

This team had some great players leading it for this year. Art Monk caught almost every pass that was thrown to him and Gary Clark ran 1,340 yards for the reason. They had a tough schedule by was still able to outscore their opponents. They finished the regular season with 14 wins and only 2 loses. They got through the playoffs without a problem. This team won the their final playoff game against the Lions with a score of 41-10. In the Super Bowl they were able to beat the Buffalo Bills with a final score of 37-24.
These are just some of the greatest teams to ever play in the NFL. These teams not only had a great offense but a strong defense as well. Due to the great coaching skills and talent to hit the field these teams will be remembered as some of the best to ever play in the NFL.

Best NBA Teams of All-Time

Chicago Bulls All Time NBA

1997 Chicago Bulls: “Best NBA Team Ever”

During the 1996-1997 season, the Chicago Bulls were returning from their championship season, winning the 1996 NBA Finals. For the 1996-1997 season, coach Phil Jackson and the Chicago Bulls star Michael Jordan were seeking their fifth NBA championship and establishment as the best team with the best player.

The Bulls had experience with Jordan, Ron Harper and the threat of small forward, Scottie Pippen. Their front-court needed assistance as Horace Grant and Will Perdue were off the team due to trades. What was added was Dennis Rodman, who had a wild side and flair for controversy, yet always played tough. Teams before Chicago had to put up with Rodman’s drama and off the court, taking shoes off and dying hair different colors. Pippen and Rodman had a difficult history as in 1991, Pippen was intentionally fouled hard by Rodman.

Both Pippen and Jordan were asked about bringing Dennis Rodman on the team and both approved. Head coach Phil Jackson, was said to have wanted a player to push the ball and do dirty work. Rodman defended the opponents’ best offensive threat. His energy and hustle on the floor was contagious and allowed Jordan and Pippen time to run the court to get wide open drives to score.

The Bulls set a record for most wins and fewest losses in a season at 72-10. They had a great home court advantage with only 2 losses and 39 wins at home. The Chicago team easily won in the playoffs, dispatching easily of the Miami Heat, New York Knicks, and Orlando Magic.

For the cherry on this sports’ sundae, the Bulls played a Seattle Supersonic team who had a best 64-18 win season, overshadowed by the Bulls’ record. Chicago won the NBA championship series 4-2. Michael Jordan averaged 30 points and 38 minutes per game.
Dennis Rodman averaged a league best 16 rebounds per game. Scottie Pippen led the team with six assists per game average.

The competitiveness and drive of the Bulls’ team and master of “zen” coaching; Phil Jackson led to a close to perfect season. Big egos, competitiveness and giant salaries all added to the juggling puzzle to squeeze the best out of the best.

Michael Jordan’s pure anger for losing drove him to do anything to win. He famously played sick and hurt because he knew the Bulls would lose without him. Michael Jordan led the playoffs in most shots attempted and most shots missed. He led all players in free-throws made. Dennis Rodman led all in rebounding per game while Scottie Pippen led the league in playoff steals.

Until 2016, the Chicago Bulls had the best record in NBA history. They played together and willed their team to bring the best out of the best with players knowing their role. This chemistry and talent is hard to argue as less than superior.

2016 Super Bowl Predictions

Super Bowl Predictions for 2016

Only the best are going to hoist the Lombardi trophy as the champions of the NFL. “There can be only one!” Every team has a shot to win the Super Bowl. But in reality, there is only a handful that can pull this off.

New England Patriots

When do they not have a chance to go to the Super Bowl? With Tom Brady and Bill Belichick and company, they will always have a chance to get there. If or when they get there, they would be the favorite. They have the best schemes, and they can outcoach anyone in the league. Let’s face it…they have Tom Brady, and with that guy on your team you have a shot to win any game, no matter who you are. But for this year, they are the odds on favorite. Tom always plays with a chip on his shoulder.

Seattle Seahawks

Russell Wilson is a winner. He is a little undersized, like Drew Brees, but I believe that is a source of motivation for him. He understands the game better and better every year. The Seahawks are loaded with talent on offense and defense, and, they are coached by Pete Carroll, one of the best coaches in football. I have to believe they are going to win their division. They have stars on offense and defense, and they are home to the NFL’s 12th man.

Green Bay Packers

Aaron Rodgers and company didn’t finish the year as planned last season, but they are going to play with a chip on their shoulder, and I mean the whole team. Mike McCarthy has kept this team in the thick of things for years, and he will coach with a grudge. Offensively, the Packers will be in great shape with everyone healthy. On defense, they will be a monster. Green Bay should be in the NFC title game, and more importantly, win it to get to the championship game.

Carolina Panthers

It’s true the Panthers fell short a few short months ago losing to the Broncos in the Super Bowl, but, this year might be different. The Panthers have a great coach in Ron Rivera and an exceptional quarterback and athlete in Cam Newton. The Panthers had an incredible season at 15-1 last year, and they have a chance to do it again. They have experience, a great coaching staff, and a desire to get what escaped them last year, the Lombardi trophy.

Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals were one of the surprises last year being they were playing so well with a quarterback who has produced on the average in Carson Palmer. Palmer played like he was 10 years younger. What they do have is a coach that eats and breathes football just as much or more than all the rest. He strives to be the best at whatever he does and expects the same from his players. There is so much talent on each side of the ball don’t be surprised if Arizona makes it to the final game of the year.
